About

I know, I know…this is supposed to be all about me. What I’ve done, where I’ve been, what I’ve learned, why those make me more professionally accomplished than anyone else doing this – and I am.

So here goes, but it’ll be quick. Bachelor of Architecture degree from LSU in 1978, first licensed in 1981; spent the next 15 years (from 1978) in private practice; spent the last 23 years in public practice. During my time in private practice, others hired me as their architect; during my time in public practice, I hired other architects, engineers, and contractors.  And I’m still doing it, successfully, every day – there, that’s enough about me – done. I said all of that to say this – it’s not about me:

It’s About You

The very fact that you’re reading this means you’re about to go through what I go through every single day. But you’re about to do it for the very first time. I can show you how to do it right, the very first time.

It’s About Your Church Project

A design and construction project is a foundational endeavor – the success of every stage depends on successful completion of the stages preceding it. If one – just one – goes wrong, everything that follows it will suffer, and the results will be around for quite a long time! I can show you how to make sure that’s a good thing.

It’s About Your Building Committee

Everything that happens during the course of your church project will be initiated, reviewed, and approved by your building committee. First. Select the right person to chair it, and they’ll select the right members. Select the right members, and all of the bases that need to be covered in the planning stages will be covered the right way. Cover all of the bases the right way during the planning stages, and you’ll have a solid foundation to build on for the duration of the project. I can show you how to select the chair, select the committee members, and direct all of their focus on the planning bases that need to be covered. While saving money on your architect’s fee – did I mention that?

It’s About Your Architect and Design

Have you ever interviewed an architect? Have you ever interviewed several? Did you know you can use the results of all your building committee’s planning to find out which one really wants to be your architect, aforementioned reduced fee and all? Do you know how to find the best qualified church architects in your area? It’s easy, and I can show you how to do all of these.

It’s About Your Contractor and Construction

Did you know there’s a really good way to make sure only contractors you’d like to hire are allowed to bid on your church project? Did you know there’s an easy way to make it very difficult for your contractor to find legitimate ways to ask for a change order? Did you know there’s a way to turn your contractor into an advocate for saving money on your church project? I can show you how to do all of these – and it’s a lot simpler than you might think!

Like I Said, It’s About You

You can do all of these things, and a whole lot more – and it would be my distinct pleasure to help you do each of them, every step of the way. A lot of the answers you might find yourself in need of are already here – but if you don’t see a solution to your specific problem, just ask. Nothing would make me happier than to help you solve your specific problem. Like I said, it’s about you.  I’m convinced there’s a reason you and I are both right here, right now – Thanks for looking, and Godspeed on your journey!
